Harry Potter World!!!

Once the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was announced, I started dreaming about a vacation to Orlando! After much consideration, we decided to leave the boys home so we could really enjoy ourselves. Jeanette graciously offered to watch our adorable and somewhat crazy children!
It was a dream come true; I felt like I was really walking through Hogsmeade! They had almost everything you could think of: The Hogwarts Express, Honeydukes, Zonkos, Olivanders, The Owl Post, The Three Broomsticks, BUTTERBEER,Overpriced Souvenirs, They even had Moaning Myrtle's voice in the bathroom!

To get to the Forbidden Journey ride, you get to walk through the castle and see Dumbledore's office and The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Both are exact duplicates from the movies and realistic projections of Dumbledore, Harry, Ron and Hermione that talk to you. They also have talking portraits, the sorting hat and other replicas from the movie. It was awesome!

The Dragon Challenge ride was a pair of roller coasters, the Hungarian Horntail and the Chinese Fireball. They were our favorite ride and the line was never long so we rode those quite a few times! The Flight of the Hippogriff was a small roller coaster that went by Hagrid's Hut and Buckbeak's nest.

I should probably mention that we saw the other attractions at Universal and Islands of Adventure but Harry Potter World was by far the best! They had mini performances from the frog choir, the Beauxbaton girls and the Durmstrang guys every hour. I tried to load the videos but it didn't work. I'm sure you could find a video on youtube. The Butterbeer was delicious and I wish we could have brought some home!
We had so much fun and I probably could have stayed there forever, but I missed my little boys! When we got home, Logan gave me a big hug and it was the perfect ending to our amazing vacation!

Logan's first Birthday!!!

Logan had a great birthday. Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Nell and Neen, Mommy and Daddy, and big brother Elliott all shared in the fun and the teddy bear themed cake. Logan loves all the presents by Mashi won him (and Elliott) over with the CAT push truck.

For everyone who thinks Elliott and Logan look nothing alike

I found a picture of Elliott as a baby. He's a little younger than Logan is now but you can barely tell them apart. Which means Logan will probably look like this in a few years and I will have my hands full keeping them out of trouble!

Nevada!

We took a little trip to Nevada last week and had tons of fun! Elliott got to play with Hyrum and fight with little Riley.

We celebrated Elliott's third birthday with a Thomas the train party!

I got to ride Hyrum's pony and bond with Miss Riley! Elliott was terrified of riding the pony.

Jen, Evan and Jeanette were nice enough to watch our boys so JC and I could attend my cousin Joey's wedding! It was so fun to be there and we're so happy for them!

We finished our trip in St. George where I got food poisoning from some chineese food and Jen participated in a triathalon, sadly, I don't have any pictures of that but I'm sure you'll find some on Jen's blog.

Skinny Butt

So we were it Twin Falls the other day and since it takes so long to get there from Malta we spent about the whole day there. Elliott and Logan were going through alot of diapers. Towards the end of the day Elliott had a stinky, we searched through the diaper bag and there were no more big diapers. We still had a couple little diapers so we tried one on Elliott, it was a bit tight, like a fat man in a speedo, but it fit. It's sad that our toddler can fit into size one diapers.

Elliott's Snowman

It snowed a little bit this morning so Elliott decided that he needed to build a snowman. We made the little snowman and then had a snowball fight.

Bye Bye Binky

So Wednesday night we went to the ward Christmas party and Elliott got to see Santa! I asked him what he was going to ask Santa for and he said "A box" Meaning a Christmas Wish Box that the little Einsteins get. I asked him what he was going to wish for with his box and he said a binky. We thought this was funny at the time because he already has a binky but we'd only been giving it to him for bed time. If you've spend some time with Elliott, you know how much he loves his binky. We call it his "precious" because it consumes his every thought.
So anyway when we got home that night we couldn't find his precious anywhere. We searched upstairs. We searched downstairs. We searched the car. We searched the diaper bag several times. We were not successful in our search. It was a traumatic night for poor Elliott. Every minute or two he would ask "Where Binky? Binky where are you?" I'd tell him that we lost Binky and then he would cry, "OH NOOOOOO!" He finally passed out on the floor around 1:30 in the morning.
It's been three days now and occasionally he'll ask for Binky but for the most part he's adjusting pretty well. We'll see how our four hour drive to Sun Valley goes without the binky!

Baby Logan

Little Logan decided to surprise us all and come a month early. We didn't have anything ready and we hadn't even decided on a name but he was in a hurry to get here! Logan is doing really well and getting lots of love from his big brother Elliott. We feel incredibly blessed to have a healthy baby boy!

We got a new computer so now I can blog again! Here are a few pictures of the past month or so.

These are the two kittens that we've adopted. They wandered into the shop along with their mom and we've been feeding them. Occasionally they'll let me pet them!

For my birthday JC and I got to go to them temple and out to lunch in Twin Falls. JC made me a red velvet cake and it was delicious!

Happy Birthday Cake Dada!

Guess who had a birthday? JC turned 28 yesterday and Elliott and I had fun spoiling him. Elliott was so excited that he helped Daddy open his presents in the morning. Then he helped Daddy play with his presents, well just one of the presents."Play Mario!" He didn't really care about the other gifts JC got. In the afternoon, JC and I went out to lunch to celebrate; it was so nice to eat and talk without having to yell or wrestle our adorable child.
Later that evening while JC was fishing with the scouts, Elliott and I decorated his birthday cake. Elliott was very helpful and ate some of the left-over frosting and strawberries. He tried to eat the birthday candles too, but I saved them before he took too many bites. After JC got home, we had a little party with Janelle and JC's parents. We all ate cake and watched Elliott play some Mario Kart, I'm sure it won't surprise anyone that Elliott is really good at Mario Kart. Before he went to bed Elliott gave Daddy a hug and said "Happy Birthday Cake" So sweet. I don't know who had more fun, Elliott or JC!

Hogle Zoo

Earlier this month, JC had to drive Sam to the Salt Lake airport. I decided we should make it a fun trip and take Elliott to Hogle Zoo. Elliott had so much fun! We rode the little train and the carousel. We let Elliott pick which carousel animal he wanted to sit on and he chose the peacock seat. I didn't think he would enjoy it as much as the other rides, but he loved it and didn't want to get off when the ride stopped. He really liked the elephants, giraffes and snakes, but I think his favorite animal was the gorilla. If you ask him what he saw at the zoo, he'll say a big monkey!

Bee Buzzyear

Elliott needed a haircut, which is never an easy task, so we decided to buzz his little head. We bribed him with an otter pop hoping he would sit still. He still moved around plenty but we were able to get the job done and it was much easier and safer than giving him a haircut with scissors. It brings back such fond memories of Mom shaving the boys' heads so we could get into the Mariner's game free for Buhner Days! But since Jay Buhner retired long ago and the Kingdome was imploded, Elliott won't be getting into any free games. Oh well, he still looks cute!

Washington!

Elliott and I took a trip to Washington a couple of weeks ago. I had fun shopping and spending time with my family and friends; Elliott had fun being spoiled by my whole family. I took Elliott to one of the free kids movies Regal does during the Summer, we spent a day walking around Pike's Place and then we watched Salmon at the Locks. Elliott got to spend a whole day with Grandpa and they played at the park and swam in the lake. It was so fun to get out of Malta for a little while and see my family. Here are some of my favorite pictures! Elliott had Uncle Miles wrapped around his little finger, Miles spent a lot of time pushing Elliott around the yard in his go-kart in progress. On our trip back to Idaho, I hit a deer. It was the first time I've ever hit an animal and it really scared everyone in the car, except Elliott who slept through the whole thing. My car was a little beat up but everyone was fine and we're all grateful it wasn't a more serious accident. The deer got up and ran into the woods so I'm just going to believe she's fine. Taytum and I can never have a normal trip home, there's always some crazy story to tell when we get back!

While we were in Washington, Grandma Grant got Elliott some golf clubs for his birthday. He used to putt balls with kitchen utensils but now he looks much more professional. If he's this good now, imagine how amazing he'll be in 20 years!

Elliott Turns 2!

My little boy is two! He's definitely not a baby anymore. In fact, if you ask him how old he is, he'll tell you he's six.
Elliott had two birthdays this year. We celebrated with my family while we were in Washington this month and with the Johnsons last night. Between the two parties, Elliott made out pretty well. My family got him some little golf clubs and clothes. I think his favorite gift last night was the toy tractor from Grandpa. After he opened that one, he didn't care about opening the other presents. JC and I got him fridge phonics, Grandma Johnson got him some clothes and made him a cute pillow. Janeen and Janelle got him a potty chair, the Israelsens made him a cute card and got him a subscription to The Friend, and Great Grandma Turner made him a cowboy blanket.
This year I made Elliott a Mickey Mouse cake, which was more of a challenge than I had expected, but it turned out fine and now I have a whole year to decided which cake to make next year!

We got to go down to Utah to catch up with Granny Turner and for Sara to do some family history stuff with her aunt. Grandma's dog Cindy didn't know what to think of Elliott at first, but then she warmed up to him and they had fun playing and running around.

I got out my old Lego's, Elliott and I enjoyed the time playing together although he seems to think it's important to pull apart everything I put together. We made a few different things, one of them was this awesome three wheeler. Elliott demonstated how to properly "tear it up, redneck style" on the trike...

Kitty Zoo

We drove Jake back to Eastern Washington University near Spokane. Sara found a large cat zoo near Spokane that she thought would be fun to visit. It was pretty neat, Elliott seamed to like it, JC was impressed and some young girls asked Jake to take their picture so I think he liked it too.

Christmas 2009

We spent Christmas in Sumner with the Grants and had a great holiday season. Elliott enjoyed watching Frosty and Rudolph, lots and lots of times, and he loved ripping into the presents on Christmas morning.

Elliott gots some books and some DVDs of some of his favorite shows.

Elliott's aunt Nora got him a Yo Gabba Gabba Lego set.

He also got a big Lego set with a wagon, I think he liked the wagon more than the Legos.

Sara got this tortoise (Legs) in high school and it's lived through many adventures and through being neglected for a while. We brought him to Sumner with us after Thanksgiving and Elliott has taking a liking to the little guy.

We haven't updated our blog in almost two months, we've been pretty busy. We're living in Washington with my family right now and JC is job searching. We're spending Christmas with the Grants and Elliott is getting spoiled like crazy. My mom has bought him tons of snowman stuff because he loves to watch Frosty the Snowman. He watches it everyday, sometimes three times a day. I think Christmas will be fun for him this year because he learned how to rip open presents! Elliott got to meet Santa at the Mall, he seemed a bit lost on what was going on but he enjoyed the candycane. Santa also had a cool snowglobe that we didn't get a picture of but Elliott loved it!

All Hallow's Eve....'09

Elliott's second Halloween was spent in Malta. This year he was Elmo (or Nano as Elliott says) and even had an Elmo-head bucket for all his candy, but Elliott wasn't a big fan of his costume. He didn't like the hood and when he finally got candy he wanted a lollipop but it got Elmo fur all over it.
JC and Sara dressed up as Dustfinger and Roxanne from the Inkheart books. Sara spent alot of time on JC's costume and Sara was able to use a medieval dress that Jessica had for a play. JC made torches to complete the outfit.

The Pumpkin Patch

While we were in Washington, we went to Spooner Farm's Pumpkin Patch. Elliott had lots of fun running around and playing in the puddles. He got to ride a hay bail pony and Grandma gave him a ride in the wheelbarrow! He found a pumpkin he liked but he dropped it while he was running. After the stem fell off, he decided he didn't want it anymore, so we found him another pumpkin. We had a lot of fun and hopefully we can go back next year!

My Birthday!

So I'm going home on the 8th and I won't be able to spend my birthday with JC, but he'll probably be really busy with sugar beets anyway. So this week we celebrated my birthday. On Wednesday JC and I went to the Logan temple and then out to eat at Olive Garden. Then on Sunday JC made me a cake; it was lemon with raspberry filling. It was really good and I was very proud of him. Maybe one day we can open a bakery together! For my birthday presents I got a Gryffindor shirt, some earrings, and a ring with Elliott's birthstone! It was a great early birthday and it will be fun to spend my real birthday with my family in Washington!

Yesterday was my birthday and Sara made me a German Chocolate Cake, it was sooo GOOD!!! Sara and Elliott gave me a new shirt and slacks and the Mummsie got me a matching tie. I guess adults no longer get Legos for presents.

So I have decided to learn new things! My friend Lyndsie has always been good at cross stitching and when I mentioned that I wanted to learn, she gave me a little one to try. So I opened the package and read the directions about 5 times before I asked my mother in law, Jeanette, for help. She's very crafty and was willing to answer all my questions and show me what to do several times before I finally caught on. It was fun and I learned a lot with this first little project. Like how important it is to look at all the colors before you start. There were three blue colors so I figured the lighter blue hue was the specified light blue. Nope, it was medium blue; the color I thought would be medium blue was actually blue gray. It really didn't look gray. So I had to borrow some of Jeanette's extra thread that looked close enough to the medium blue that I had already used up. Cross stitiching is also a bit hard to do with a toddler running around. Everytime I sat back down I would forget where I was and I ended up with a lot of mistakes and an extra row. My sheep is a bit taller than the one in the picture, I'm sure the sheep doesn't mind too much; it makes her look slimmer!

They look pretty similar if you don't look too closely. Last week I went to a craft store and bought some other cross stitch projects! I'm sure it will take me forever because they're a lot bigger and more complicated than this one. This one took me about a week and a half. I really don't know how long it would have taken me without all of Jeanette's help, I probably would have just given up and shoved it in a cupboard.

We spent a week in Washington and had a lot of fun. We got to spend time with lots of friends and family. My friend Lyndsie was able to get us into the Point Defiance Zoo for free and Elliott loved it.

Elliott loves to get into the cupboards and make a mess! The other day he built a tower with all the cups, he was quite proud of his creation. Such a smart baby!
